Caption on the postcard says: 'The first General Assembly Marker stands directly in front of the house where the Church of God held it's first general assembly this side of the dark ages, January 26-27, 1906, just three years after it's arise, shine, a short distance from here in what is now known as fields of the wood near Murphy, North Carolina, U.S.A. The original building is still standing and the room where the meeting was conducted has been preserved in it's original state. The truths searched out at that time are still a part of the prominent teachings of the church.'
